🎧Spotify
Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming apps worldwide. It offers millions of music, video content, and podcasts. There is a wide variety of artists and genres, from English to regional songs.
And the best part is you will get music recommendations based on your curated playlists and listening history. All you need to have is an internet connection. You can listen to music for free.
But if you are on your plane journey, you must purchase their premium plans to download music. The downloaded music is stored only in the app.
To download music on Spotify Premium, follow these steps:
On Spotify premium, you can download podcasts too. Spotify allows its premium members to download upto 10 thousand songs on up to 5 devices each. It means you can have 50 thousand downloaded songs on 5 devices – That’s a lot of songs!
I have been using Spotify premium for quite some time, and believe me, with its huge collection of downloadable songs, it is worth it. Not just that, in online mode, you can also get an ad-free listening experience with enhanced music quality.

🎵Apple Music
Another music app that I want to include in my A list (Apart from Spotify) is Apple Music. This app also offers a wide range of music. I have used Apple Music on my android devices, and it works very smoothly. You can also command Siri to search and play songs using an apple device.
Apple Music works on a paid subscription basis. So you need to pay to listen to and download songs. Now, if you are a student, you can enjoy Apple music at a discount. I purchased an Apple Music subscription in my college days and got a student discount on that.
For downloading songs on Apple Music:
🎸Amazon Music
Amazon Music is a music streaming platform owned by Amazon. It has three levels: Amazon Music Prime, Amazon Music Unlimited, and Amazon Music Free.
You can get Amazon Music Prime with your Amazon Prime membership, but if you want to get the Amazon Music Unlimited version, you must purchase a subscription. On the other hand, Amazon Music Free is free; you don’t need a Prime membership to use it.
But Amazon Music Free has a minimal music collection and doesn’t have the feature to download music. With Amazon Music Prime and Amazon Music Unlimited, you can download offline music.
To download music, you need to follow these steps:
⏯YouTube Music
One of my favorite music streaming platforms is YouTube Music which has millions of music, video, and podcast collections. Moreover, if you have YouTube Premium, you will get the exclusive ad-free experience of the app.
I love this app for its huge music and podcast collection; you can find any song or music video available on the internet in this app. The premium version makes the experience better with its downloading feature.
YouTube Music Premium offers two ways of downloading: Manual downloading and “smart download,” where your favorite songs will automatically be downloaded to the YouTube Music library.
To download songs manually, you need to:
🎙Deezer Music
Deezer Music is a free music streaming app where you can find more than 90 million songs and podcasts. The music app also gives curated music recommendations.
But there’s a catch: Deezer allows downloading songs only to premium users. The free users can’t have this facility.
To download songs on the Deezer app, follow these steps:
🎼Wynk Music
Wynk Music is one of India’s most used music streaming apps, but you can use a VPN service to access it outside India. The app is owned by Airtel telecom company. The music app provides over 20 million songs in more than 14 languages.
I like its vast collection of songs based classified by artists and mood. For instance, when I’m in, I simply search for workout music and get a vast collection of supercharging music.
Wynk Music offers a free download facility to all its users, whether they have a premium account or not. The download process in this app is easy too. This is how to listen to music on a plane for free.

SoundCloud is another popular audio streaming platform. It also allows its users to upload and share their tracks. Its unique feature is users can connect and interact with each other. I love the part where you can see comments from other users about the song describing any particular part of a song.
SoundCloud provides three types of membership. In the first tier, users can enjoy free online music streaming. In the second tier, SoundCloud Go, users can enjoy ad-free music and download songs to the app library. With SoundCloud+, the users also enjoy other facilities like enhanced music quality.
If you are a SoundCloud Go or SoundCloud+ member, follow these steps to download songs from the app:

Many Airlines provide free or paid internet service on their planes. Travelers can access the wi-fi and enjoy any music from any music streaming platform by staying online.

To get the wi-fi facility, you need to add your membership number of Emirates Skywards to your booking 24 hours (at least) before your journey. While traveling, you can choose a wi-fi package and pay online to enjoy unlimited internet connection.
Other airlines that provide paid wi-fi connections are British Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, and Virgin Atlantic. The wi-fi packages range from 9 to 29 Euros depending upon airlines and packages.
🔃Trick 2: Use 3rd Party Music Conversion Apps
Use can also use 3rd party music converter apps to convert music from the music streaming apps to your mobile device. For example, apps like ViWizard and Sidify can convert your playlists into mp3 files and save them to your mobile device.
I have used ViWizard many times before a plane journey to transform my Spotify music playlist into mp3 files on my phone. This is how to listen to music on a plane without wifi, as you can download your music.
